Visit Tay people and Dao people, learn more about their cultures, visit rice terraces, a waterfall and trek 16 - 18 km/day.
Visit Tay people and Dao people of Ha Giang Province with local guides. You will experience beautiful landscapes, cultures, historical monuments and famous landmarks.
Day One:
The day starts at 8 am when your guide picks you up at your hotel in Ha Giang and together you take a mini van to Thon Tha Village. The trek begins by ascending through lush terraced rice patties and winding through small Tay villages. All along the trek is home to local Tay and Dao ethnic minority peoples. On the way you have the opportunity to meet local people working in the field for conversations and photographs as well as children playing along the trail.
After 9 km trekking the tour stops at Lung Vai Village for a picnic lunch. There you can meet a local Dao family who invite you to explore their traditional house and share their culture. After an hour of rest and relaxation the trek continues to Ha Than Village where you can take an afternoon break to swim in the cool waters beneath the village’s beautiful waterfall. The day ends in Thon Tha village, where you stay overnight in the house of Tay people.
Day Two: Thon Tha – Khuoi Mi – Thon Tha
Day two starts at 8:00 A,m when you can join in village activities like feeding the animals, cleaning the house, gardening and preparing for breakfast. Or, if you prefer, you can stroll around the village to meet the locals and take photographs as the day begins. After breakfast the trek begins through a green valley and up the mountain linking Thon Tha to Khuoi My village. Along the way the guide will share stories with you about Dao Ao Dai people’s unique culture which you get to experience in Khuoi My village. En route you will stop to eat a picnic lunch or eat at the house of a local family. 7 km later you arrive at Khuoi My Village. Khuoi My Village is home to about 200 Dao Ao Dai ethnic minority households located at the foot of Mt. Tay Con Linh - the highest mountain in Northeast Vietnam.
After lunch, we can relax for a while and save our energy for the trek to the national highway where our van will pick us up and drive us back to Ha Giang.
